Programme of Action for General Practice

NHS England has just published the following document:
This is ""to support GPs in their role of "accountable" GP"", in particular in respect of the new contractual obligation to have a named GP for over 75s, and of the new enhanced service for admission avoidance, should your practice choose to sign up to it.

I would again draw your attention to the expectation that CCGs will invest £5 per registered patient (on top of additional funding through the Better Care Fund) to support practices in this work, mentioned in page 4 of this document.I have asked the Birmingham CCGs to clarify their intentions in respect of this, but as yet have not had any answers.I would strongly urge all practices to themselves ask their own CCG to explain how they intend to make this funding available.Examples given in the document include funding for additional practice appointments and additional staff.
