Following concerns raised about the ambiguity of the wording of the AUE DES specification, which resulted in many practices being refused component 2 payment over misinterpretation of the requirements in respect of the timing of care plan reviews, the attached letter has today been sent by NHS England to its regional teams.
The letter confirms that practices which have carried out work in good faith but may have been declined payment due to misunderstanding of the care plan review timing ( and in addition over the requirements in respect of recording the allocation of an accountable GP) should now be paid for component 2 achievement.
I have copied in the CCGs’ GP contracting managers, who I’m sure will be happy to confirm that all their practices will be paid in accordance with NHS England’s national approach.
