Dear Colleagues,
I gather you will have received the email below and attached from the CCG. The issue of digital patient access is urgently becoming massive for every practice, not just because of the need to adapt services to meet contractual developments and the changing wishes of patients, but, it goes without saying, because of the very imminent arrival of the GP at Hand/Babylon practice in Birmingham, where it will very shortly start to operate, and inevitably target registering Birmingham patients, with all the attendant threats and risks to practices in the city. This is now also in the context, of course, of UHB announcing its intention of working in partnership with Babylon and exploring a vertically-integrated model of healthcare delivery.
I would urge all of you to fully engage with a city-wide solution to grasp both the opportunities of and counter the threats arising from the digital access agenda.
Kind regards
Bob
