The required regulations changing the contract are not expected to be put in place until 1st October, and as yet the draft changes have yet to be seen. Until the new regulations are laid before Parliament there is no change to the current contractual position, but of course all practices must ensure they are fully aware of what is coming and ensure they are in a position to comply with the new contractual requirements as soon as they come into force.
Particular attention should be drawn to the changes in respect of hosting and advertising private GP services, but there are still questions over exactly what the new regulations are going to say, and what this will, mean in practice and further clarity is being sought.
