Please see below the changes to the Contractual obligations negotiated for 20/21. There will be further changes to the regulations in October this year, these will reflect the full contractual deal and have currently been delayed due to COVID. You should also receive a Contract Variation Notice from the CCG. You should go ahead and sign the documentation, however we are unsure as to when this document will be released.
In simplified terms the amendments to the regs are as follows:
- Maternal Postnatal Consultation
You must invite each female patient who delivers a baby to attend a postnatal maternal consultation, if possible between six and eight weeks after the birth of the baby .
- Electronic Repeat Dispensing

- Restriction on Use of Fax Machines
Practices must not transmit or receive any information by fax, electronic means (other than fax transmission) should be used.
- Patient Access to On-Line Services – (provision of online access to coded information in the medical record and prospective medical record)
Practices must promote and offer to the patient the facility to access on-line the information from the patients medical record .
Provision of Online access to full digital medical records must be provided.
- Online Presence and Profile on NHS Website
Practices must have a Practice Website or an Online Practice Profile, what needs to be contained in this is shown in the regulations
Requirement to maintain profile page on NHS website – Practices MUST review the information available on its website/profile page at least once in every 12 month period.
