We have received several queries in relation to the e-mail below concerning the rateable value reduction that may apply to some (not all) practices.
We have been assured that this program has been in place for a number of years. GL Hearn are a company appointed by NHSE/DoH to undertake rates reviews.
Where there is a reduction in rates the overpayment will be backdated and paid to the practice via the Council, this amount must then be forwarded to the account in red below.
Understandably, business rates costs must be reimbursed to practices by NHSE under the premises directions, rather than it being a direct reimbursement. If you do receive a rebate from the Council you MUST pay this back to NHSE, failure to do this may be construed as fraud.
