PCSE & Pensions

We have been informed that PCSE will be notifying (writing to) any GP who submitted their EOY pensions certificates on time, but who may not have had their details processed in time for inclusion in the August Total Rewards Statement (TRS). This is due to the impact of Covid. PCSE’s priority over the initial stages of the pandemic was to keep all essential services running and avoid any unnecessary disruption to front line Primary Care and staff.  Work also continued on pensions processing, but the impact of Covid-19, plus the fact this year has been one the highest in terms of volumes received (approx. 30% more than last year), meant that the team were unable to process all of the pension forms and certificates submitted in time for the August Total Rewards Statement (TRS) issued by NHS Pensions. However, they are confident that all of these, as well as all forms (with correct information) submitted post-deadline, will be included in the December TRS update.

The GPC are monitoring the pensions progress and hopefully will be able to tie this into the monitoring and effectiveness of the new PCSE Portal for pensions.

PCSE will be writing to :

 1) those who submitted their 2018/19 certificate on time but wasn’t processed in time for the August TRS

 2) those who did provide on time but with missing info / incomplete, so they will be requesting for further detail

 3) those who submitted late to remind them their info will, therefore, be reflected in the December TRS

Apparently these letters will be going out shortly.

In the meantime we recognise that there will be an additional update(s) to this e-mail, therefore as soon as we receive any additional information we will, of course, notify you accordingly.
