2019/20 GMS Contract publication

Details of a new contractual agreement between GPC and NHS England on behalf of the government, has been published. The deal is very far-reaching, bringing in significant changes over the next  five years, not just 2019/20. Attached is the BMA  press release, a full summary document detailing the changes, which runs to over 100 pages, and below is  a link to further information on the BMA website:

There is a massive amount of information to take in here, but I would urge everyone to read the documentation as soon as time allows. Further guidance will be produced and distributed in the coming weeks and months as your questions ( and concerns) inevitably arise and many cannot probably be answered as yet.

The key headlines relate to agreement on a state- backed indemnity scheme and the universal role out and development of primary care networks.

The LMC will of course keep you updated on all new information and do its best to answer, or escalate any questions. I’ve been informed that there will also be a GPC ” Contract Roadshow” in Birmingham, date as yet unconfirmed, where a member of GPC’s executive will speak about the changes.
